Figure Ground
Using two letters to create a composition, this project illustrates how negative space plays a role in creating interesting works.

Logo Design
Less is more and designing a logo is no exception to this rule. For this project, I created a new logo and branding for the North Chicago wholesale coffee company Coffree Fresh Incorporated. To emphasize the idea of their coffee being fresh , I combined the bright green colors of a healthy leaf with the delicious brown of roasted coffee. I placed this modern one-line logo across business cards, mugs, and packaging to make Coffee Fresh Inc. stand out!

Book Cover
For this project, I redesigned an old book cover to give it a modern twist! Based on my rough sketches, I was originally learning towards redesigning the cover of Hachiko Waits. But halfway through the process, I redirected towards Anne of Green Gables. Using my original artwork (oil portrait on canvas), I created a contemporary version of Anne Shirly which emphasizes the beauty of her unique complexion.

Poetry Poster Ad
Charles Bukowski was one of the most sincere poets of the 20th century. His works illustrated the honest and harsh truths of urban life, filled with alcohol, drugs, poverty, and mental illness. This project was an informational poster to attend a lecture on Bukowski's work. As one of his most famous poems Bluebird is a metaphor for his innocent heart being trapped inside the dark cage of his body which he kills with alcohol and depression, the first version of my poster emphasizes the bluebird trapped behind his bones. The backgroud is a dark, cold alley where Bukowski spent much of his drunk life. The second poster focuses on the same metaphor, bringing in viewers with the bright red heart which overpowers the poster.
