Hyperlinks, or just links, are created with the anchor (a) element. This link to Google shows that anchor (a) is an inline element. Anchor is a strange name for an element that creates hyperlinks, but that is a story for another day.

You have to see the source code to get much more out of this example. The links below are similar in that they link to cool animal names! But if you click on them, you will see the second one opens in a new browser tab (or new browser window in a smart phone).
